Description of fabrics for awnings

Selt awnings are offered with acrylic fabrics. We offer over 100 different fabric colors (striped and plain). All fabrics come from renowned European factories.

composition: 100% acrylic, weight 300/320gr.m2, thickness ~0.55mm, penetration resistance 300mm.

ADVANTAGES: color durability, high resistance to light and weather conditions, tear resistance in terms of high stresses, air permeability and water resistance. All acrylic materials have been impregnated with TEFLON or SCOTCHGARD protective agent. This creates an excellent protective barrier and enhances the hydrophobic properties of fabrics, and also prevents dirt from sticking to the material. Please remember that factors such as acid rain, animal pollution and cleaning the material with abrasive agents may destroy the protective coating.

Acrylic fabrics thanks to impregnation, among others: a layer of Teflon, which significantly enhances the hydrophobic properties, meets the waterproof requirement and iswaterproof.

All acrylic fabrics are resistant to moderate rain. All of them have a degree of water impermeability of 330 mm water column (EN20811 standard).

Properties and production standards

Awning fabric measurement

Total width (S) – from 110cm to 700cm
Total reach (W) – from 150cm to 700cm

Take into account the appropriate overlap for the awning roller tube.
The tolerance of the dimensions of the covering width is ±2 cm.

The standard fabric has pockets for a flexible rod with a diameter of ~7x11mm, located on both sides of the fabric (along the width). The first rod is inserted into the awning roller tube, and the second into the front beam.

The tube/rod can be easily removed from the pocket and used, for example, with your own tube.

Information about awning valances by Selt. The valance for terrace awnings is easily removable. It comes in three shapes: C, D, E. The height of the valance (F) is 21cm. They are trimmed with thick piping and have a rod sewn into the pocket. The valance is inserted into the front beam of the awning.

If necessary, replacing the valance we can unscrew the front beam cap and slide out (remove) the valance.

Our fabrics are available in over 100 colors, the Teflon layer helps to drain water, ensures color durability and light resistance. The thickness of the fabric ensures significant water resistance while maintaining ventilation properties.

Retractable valance option – Jamaica Selt Volant awning

In the Jamaica awning, it is possible to make a roll-out valance – Volant. The valance is rolled out with a crank and its maximum length is 120 cm. Volant is additional protection against the sun’s rays, but also protects the surface against prying eyes and tastes of wind.
