SK external blind with a rectangular box – the highest quality and attention to detail
Surface-mounted, facade, and front blinds are modern, elegant, and functional solutions for anyone looking for a stylish and effective way to protect against the sun, heat loss, and burglary. Surface-mounted external blinds are an ideal solution for homes and apartments, offering users a range of benefits. They are most often installed on existing windows or facades. Adaptive external blinds are designed for installation on a finished building without the need to interfere with the building’s facade.
Surface-mounted external SK blinds with a square box are modern shading products. The characteristic shape of the SK box, with the lower corner cut at a 45-degree angle, is one of the most frequently chosen models of external blind box. The inspection flap used in the lower part of the blind box ensures easy and quick access to the blind armor (e.g., for service). In the case of installation in a window recess outside the building (right-hand blind), only the flat part of the blind box is visible, and the inspection flap is mounted on the inside of the box. Access to the system in such a case is possible from the inside of the room.
The square SK box of the surface-mounted external blind is made of powder-coated aluminum. In our offer, SK boxes are available in several color options to choose from. For an additional fee, it is also possible to make the box in a wood-like color scheme. The dimension of the box is adjusted to the height of the entire blind and the type of armor used in it.
Key Benefits – Advantages of Surface-Mounted External Blinds
External blinds are products that bring many benefits to users. Among them, the most important are:
1. High quality and aesthetics – the construction of the blind is made of aluminum covered with a double layer of paint, a rich color palette of blind components allows matching the shade of the blind to the facade, the use of high-quality aluminum ensures the durability of the products, and double painting protects it from scratches.
2. Excellent thermal insulation – blinds provide an improvement in the building’s energy balance through excellent thermal insulation, allowing for reduced heating and cooling costs.
3. Effective acoustic insulation – depending on the type of armor chosen, external blinds provide a reduction in noise from outside, increasing the comfort of being in the room.
4. Protection against prying eyes and unauthorized intrusion – thanks to the construction of the armor, the external blind provides the possibility of shielding the interior from the gaze of people from the outside, and also protects the glass from damage in the event of an accident or attempted burglary.
5.Custom-made blinds – this is undoubtedly an advantage of the possibility to order a cover that is precisely what is needed to shield every opening: windows, balcony doors, patio doors, or shop windows,
6.The ability to control the amount of light entering the room – depending on the degree of blind extension, it is possible to shade and darken the room more or less,
7.The possibility of installation at any time – surface-mounted blinds can be attached to window joinery or walls, also in existing buildings, without the need to interfere with the facade,
8.The possibility of smartphone control – the use of an electric drive (motor with appropriate parameters) allows for controlling all external blinds via a smartphone,
9.Double protection thanks to the integration of the blind with a mosquito net – an optional recessed mosquito net, hidden in the box along with the armor, provides additional protection of rooms against insects and bugs even when the blind armor remains rolled up.
Perfect fit – custom-sized surface-mounted external blinds
When ordering blinds in our store, it is necessary to provide the total external dimensions of the blind – width and height. External blinds should be precisely fitted to the dimensions of the windows, so special attention should be paid to the correct measurement of the covers.
The total width includes the width of the box, to which the blind’s armor is rolled up. The height, on the other hand, is the total length of the box together with the guides.
Electric external blinds – comfort and ease of use
Surface-mounted external blinds can be operated manually – using a cord, tape, or crank.
A much more popular way to control external blinds is the use of an electric motor. Then, the blind can be controlled using a wall button or a remote. In our offer, there are also motors with built-in control units and obstacle detection. The choice of motor depends on the size of the blind and the type of armor used.
Functionality of the surface-mounted external blind – armors and mosquito net
The armor of the surface-mounted PA 39 blind is made of powder-coated aluminum, and the interior of the profiles is filled with polyurethane foam. The profiles are characterized by a small width and excellent winding properties. The use of foam increases the stiffness and durability of the blind’s armor, and the low weight of the PA 39 armor means that even in larger sizes, its manual operation is light and smooth.
The armor of the surface-mounted PA 43 blind is made of powder-coated aluminum and filled with polyurethane foam. Armor made from this type of profile is excellent as protection for windows and patio doors. The profiles of this armor have a perforated strip connecting individual slats.
The armor of the surface-mounted PE 41 blind has profiles made of extruded aluminum. They are characterized by excellent strength and durability. The fairly large weight of the armor means that the use of an electric drive is recommended for its control.
Optional mosquito net
Armor profiles are made from high-quality components. They are environmentally clean products – the foam does not contain freon compounds, and the paints used for coating do not contain cadmium. Profiles are available in many color versions to choose from, also in wood-like coloring.
Armors PA 39, PA 43, and PE 41 allow for optional integration with a mosquito net. The mesh provides effective protection against insects and bugs entering the room, as well as pollen, leaves, and other contaminants. At the same time, it does not limit the access of light and fresh air. The use of a mosquito net is possible only for specific dimensions – up to a maximum of 3m2 of surface area.
Methods of installing the SK surface-mounted external blind with a square box
Installing an external blind is an excellent way to increase living comfort. They have excellent thermal insulation properties, protecting the rooms, and the objects and plants in them, from excessive heating in the summer and heat loss in winter.
SK surface-mounted external blinds with a square box are perfect for installation in existing buildings. Their main advantage is the possibility of installation without interfering with the structure of the building, which allows for their use at any time, also on a building that is already plastered. Surface-mounted blinds can be mounted both to the window joinery and directly to the wall. For the SK surface-mounted blind with a square box, the following installation options are available:
1. Installation in a window recess – this method of installation involves mounting the box and the guides of the blind in the light of the window or door opening. It is possible to use left-turn (type A) and right-turn (type B) installations. It usually reduces the light of the window and is characterized by the speed and ease of blind installation.
2. Installation type A – the box is inverted – the flat part is visible, and the inspection flap is available from the inside of the blind.
3. Installation type B – the box is mounted with the flat side to the wall (window recess), the inspection flap is available from the outside of the blind.
4.Installation on the building wall (type C) – this method of installation involves mounting the box and the guides of the blind directly on the exterior wall of the building, access to the inspection flap from the bottom of the box.
5.Installation on the room wall (type D) – this method of installation involves mounting the box and the guides of the blind directly on the wall inside the room, access to the inspection flap from the bottom of the box.
Type C installation in the case of manual control requires drilling through the wall or window frame. On the other hand, installation inside the room (type D) does not require the use of such additional drilling.
